Tuan Malinowski (they/them) is a New York—based director and choreographer, re-examining the landscape of the American theatre through their lens as a queer, non-binary, Asian American adoptee.
Malinowski is currently choreographing the star-studded, all trans and non-binary concert production of The Drowsy Chaperone at Carnegie Hall, directed by Tony Award—nominee L Morgan Lee. Their work also includes productions at Northern Stage, Weathervane Theatre, and at universities across the country. Malinowski has choreographed for celebrated New York—events, such as Jay Armstrong Johnson’s I Put A Spell On You and Leg Up On Life’s Night of Life. They are an alum of Dance Lab New York’s DLNY Connect and New York Theatre Barn’s Choreography Lab. As an associate/assistant, Malinowski’s work includes Chay Yew’s re-examination of South Pacific at Goodspeed Musicals, Pittsburgh CLO’s world premiere of Game On, and MISS STEP, a new musical in development with MCC Theater, with choreography by Connor Gallagher and Laganja Estranja.
